Asking for my son who goes to college in WI. He has a roommate who put up cameras that record video, audio & face recognition. My son does not want these cameras up and has not consent med to them.
Under Wisconsin law:
- It's illegal to videotape someone in a place where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
- Audio recording without consent is also illegal.
Your son can contact the college administration or local law enforcement if his roommate doesn't remove the cameras.
