H1b Visa Fraud Reporting

Full Conversation

Hello, I hope you're doing well!! I am **** Sert. I have been living in the U.S. for 7 years and had different types of visas during my stay. A company (IT staffing and recruiting company) offered me to sponsor an H1b visa which I held once but had to make a change of status because my company shut down when I was on H1b. Long story short, this company said they applied for H1b for me under their company and I even made payment to them for this, but according to USCIS, there is no case with my name as beneficiary and I believe I am facing H1b fraud with this company and I want to know what process I can follow to get my rights and I am seeking advice on this issue. I tried to contact many attorneys but unfortunately I am not in a great shape to afford their fees but one of them told me that I can possibly seek to apply for a U visa under Fraud in Labor Contracting and I want to see my options with that. Also, I want to file a report for this fraud to the police and also USCIS and any other organization that can help me, but I am not sure if I should do this by myself or if I need guidance to file that. Please let me know if you can help me with this issue, looking forward to your response. Thanks ****
Hello ****,
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Here's some general guidance:
*. To report the company, you can file a complaint with the USCIS and the Department of Labor.
*. The U visa might be a possible option, but it's typically for victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse.
*. It's advisable to seek legal assistance while filing these complaints and exploring visa options.
