Some tools were stolen from a company truck that was left unlocked. I wasn’t driving the truck or even on the job site when it happened. My employer is telling me that since I’m the Forman of the group I’m responsible and wants me to reimburse them for the tools. Can they legally make me pay for them? Also can they keep my paycheck if I don’t?
